Departures are from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal (TMFT) in eastern Singapore; it takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to Bandar Bentan Telani (BBT), where the resorts are concentrated, and about 1 hour 45 minutes to Tanjung Pinang (Sri Bintan Pura), the administrative center. There is also a route via Batam Island. Check-in is recommended about 1.5 hours before departure, and a passport is required.

GT/Snapper/Grouper/kelong（Kepri）
The best season for fishing is roughly April to October, when the seas become calm. From November to February, the northeast monsoon brings high waves and strong currents. You can target GT (giant trevally), red snapper, and grouper, and enjoy bottom fishing / light jigging at depths of 60–100 m around areas such as Nunbin Island.

Charters running out to the waters of the Riau Islands from the ports of Tanjung Pinang and Tanjung Uban are the mainstay. GT is the top draw, with snapper, grouper, Spanish mackerel, and barracuda also on offer. Jigging, popping, and trolling are the focus, and the April-October window when the sea calms is the best season. The waters around Mapur Island, close to Singapore, are a prime spot.

Bintan Island has a hot, humid tropical climate year-round, with little temperature variation: highs of 30–32°C and lows of 22–24°C. The rainy season, driven by the northeast monsoon, is generally November to March (with the heaviest rain in November–December). June to September leans drier under the southwest monsoon, but rain occurs throughout the year.
