How to fish here

Out of Paihia/Russell in the Bay of Islands (North Island, NZ), this charter runs the 12.9m game boat Wahoo. The headliners are striped, blue and black marlin and kingfish, with deep-water hapuku, broadbill (swordfish) and yellowfin also on offer. Skipper Andy McGoughey has lived in Russell for over 30 years. Trips range from light-tackle kingfish half-days to 6-day liveaboard expeditions.
