A 24-hour, year-round pay lake (no closed season). Most comfortable in the cool season, Dec–Feb. Mar–May is hot, so fish early morning; watch for heavy afternoon rain in the Jun–Oct rainy season. Mekong giant catfish is the signature species.
This managed lake near Bangkok is famous for Mekong giant catfish and Siamese giant carp. Both top 100kg, so it comes down to a battle of raw power. For carp, cast rice-flour paste baits on a method feeder to the calm water out wide; for catfish, work bread-style baits mid-water under a float toward the middle of the lake. It's a high-activity fishery where 30-fish days are possible, and a guide is recommended for a first visit.
