The Kong Kong River runs about 4 km, a mangrove-lined brackish stretch with a track record for siakap (barramundi). At low tide you can't get into the channels, so tides are the key, and you fish by gently dropping live prawns tight to the structure. For mangrove jack, rig small minnows or prawn-shaped worms on 6-8 kg bait/spinning gear and cast into the structure around overhangs. Depart by small boat from Jeti Kong Kong (Masai).
