Savusavu on Fiji's Vanua Levu is well placed, reaching blue water just 30 minutes from the harbour. Pop topwater along reef edges and bommies for GT, dogtooth and red bass, and troll offshore for yellowfin, wahoo and mahi-mahi. Black marlin peaks Jul-Oct and yellowfin Nov-Mar. Winter also brings good wahoo and walu (Spanish mackerel).
