Chuuk (Truk Lagoon) is a vast lagoon ringed by a roughly 225 km barrier reef, a diving mecca known for its WWII shipwrecks. For fishing, you target GT (giant trevally), tuna, mahi-mahi, and barracuda in the lagoon and in passes like the Wonei and Blasted Reef passes. The free-flowing passes and untouched reef create prime conditions that draw the pelagics in.

Tropical rainforest climate near the equator. Hot and humid year-round (roughly 26–31°C) with heavy rainfall. Being south of the main typhoon-formation zone, direct hits are relatively rare, but squalls and rain are frequent.
In strong wind or squalls, adjust fishing spots within the lagoon. Wrecks and areas inside the atoll are calmer than the open sea and make easy alternatives.
