Where it is & getting there

Getting there (from the nearest int'l airport) source

From Japan, use the Island Hopper via Narita/Kansai–Guam, or via Honolulu. Pohnpei is a major eastern hub with relatively easy-to-secure seats, but the Hopper runs only a few flights weekly, so schedule adjustment is needed. Airport transfers are available from the lodgings.

How to fish here

Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia is one of the world's finest big-game waters, and charters are mostly hotel-affiliated boats. The Pohnpei Game Fishing Club runs tournaments of around 20 boats almost every month, with marlin and yellowfin trolling at the core. Beyond offshore trolling, you can also enjoy bottom fishing and casting from shore.
