Slaughter Fishing Charters is based at Houhora in New Zealand's Far North, running the boat Relentless. Near the harbour you target big snapper on soft plastics, slow jigs and bait, and when seas allow you head about an hour offshore to the deep for hapuku, bass and bluenose on jigs and dead baits. Its edge is a location facing the open ocean of the Far North.

Mild oceanic climate of the far north. Like the Bay of Islands, midsummer (Jan–Feb) is warm and even winter is relatively mild. Detailed figures are omitted as reliable monthly high/low temperature data for Houhora could not be confirmed.
Being in the far north near the west coast, it is prone to wind and swell. In rough weather, use sheltered waters near the harbour or reschedule.
