Book / contact the captain directly 新旗興號海釣船(FB) ›Kaohsiung's gateway is Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH). In addition to direct flights from Japan (Narita, Kansai, etc.), if you arrive at Taipei (Taoyuan) it is convenient to head south to Zuoying Station on the Taiwan High Speed Rail (HSR). From both the airport and the station, you can reach the city and the various fishing ports (Xingda Port, Qianzhen, etc.) via the Kaohsiung Metro (MRT).

Tuna/Mahi-mahi/GT
Jigging for offshore migratory fish (yellowfin tuna, skipjack, mahi-mahi, etc.) is generally best from April to October. On the other hand, jigging for amberjack is considered to peak from winter to spring. Inshore bottom fish (groupers, etc.) can be targeted year-round, but during the typhoon season (summer to early autumn) it is essential to check departure conditions.

Kaohsiung has a subtropical to tropical climate and is warm year-round. Even in winter (December to February) daytime temperatures stay around 24°C, making it comfortable, while in summer (June to September) they rise to around 32°C with high heat and humidity. In summer, also watch out for typhoons and squalls.
