There are no direct flights; domestic flights via Ambon (AMQ) are the standard, and routing into Ambon via Makassar (UPG) is also common. From the airport, travel by car to the port towns of Tual/Langgur.

The best fishing season is during the inter-monsoon lulls, when the sea calms, in April–May and October–November. November–April, the dry season, is also good for targeting GT (giant trevally), with calm seas and good visibility. Large schools of GT can be seen around the Kei Islands and Dula Laut.
