For the return, fly back to CXI on Tuesday, stay one night, and fly home on the international flight Wednesday. Can be combined with a CXI stay. Scheduled flights are limited, so there is a risk of schedule changes.

Tabuaeran, a Kiribati atoll accessed from Honolulu. On this isolated land of barely 3 m above sea level and 30 square miles, it's famed as one of the world's premier flats for big bonefish and GT. You wade the hard white-sand flats on foot and move by panga. Rod numbers are capped at six per week to keep the pressure down, and the targets include unpressured big bonefish, GT, and bumphead parrotfish.

Tropical, hot and humid year-round (roughly 28-31C). Thanks to the trade winds, the difference between the dry and wet seasons is small.
Extremely remote, with limited medical care; in serious cases evacuation takes a long time. Medical evacuation and travel insurance are essential. No cell coverage (Wi-Fi via Starlink for limited hours), and power is solar, enough only to charge small devices. Suited to advanced anglers who are physically and mentally fit and flexible.
