Book / contact the captain directly Family Fishing Lipe(FB) ›Koh Lipe is a remote island floating in the Andaman Sea in Satun Province, Thailand's southernmost area. It has no airport or pier and can only be reached by boat. In the dry season (roughly November to April/May), direct ferries and extra services run from Langkawi (Malaysia), but in the rainy season (May to October) the sea gets rough and many services are suspended, so the year-round route via the mainland Pak Bara pier becomes the standard.

GT/barracuda/Tuna/Squid
The best season for fishing is the dry season, November to April. The sea is calm with high visibility, and you can target GT (giant trevally), barracuda, grouper, snapper, mackerel species, sailfish and more. In the rainy season (May to October) the sea is rough and many boats close. Some sources say sailfish can be seen year-round.

This is Thailand's southernmost island, in Tarutao Marine National Park adjacent to the Adang-Rawi group. Fishing is banned within the park, so the focus is squid fishing and night sea fishing by longtail boat out to permitted waters beyond its bounds. The dry season (Nov-Apr), when seas are calm and cancellations are few, is prime; in the monsoon watch for strong wind, rain and partial park closures. It's a border area about 35km from Langkawi, Malaysia.

Tropical, with little temperature change throughout the year; daytime highs are stable at 31 to 34°C and nighttime lows around 23 to 26°C. The dry season from November to April is the best season, with calm seas too. The rainy season (May to October) has frequent squalls and rough seas, and many lodgings and boats close. For clothing, light attire (T-shirt and shorts) plus sun and rain protection is the year-round basic.
