Estuary/sea(Kuala Abai)
The best fishing season is roughly March to October during the dry season. In particular, March to May, when the sea is calm (February to April is the driest), is considered prime; in Sabah's nearshore waters, May to July is also said to be good for barracuda, sailfish, barramundi, tuna, snapper, and more. Conversely, the northeast monsoon period around November to February sees more rain and waves, with conditions prone to turning rough.
