Barramundi/Grouper/Snapper/Squid
The best fishing is the dry season, November-April. During this period the Andaman Sea is calm, ideal for boating and fishing. Bottom and reef targets such as grouper, snapper, barracuda, and trevally bite well, and in deep water there is also a run of sailfish, tuna, and marlin. Barramundi can be targeted in the Krabi River.

Krabi/Ao Nang on Thailand's Andaman coast is built around island-hopping charters out of Ao Nang pier. The close grounds 15 minutes out are shallow and mostly small fish, while the deeper water around Bamboo Island toward the Phi Phi group produces better sizes. Troll or bottom-fish for grouper, barracuda, king mackerel and queenfish, and toward night you can jig for squid too. Its strength is that trips run year-round.
