Target fish & season

Dogtooth tuna/GT/Tuna

Diving and fishing around Bunaken / Manado are possible year-round, but in the dry season of May to October there are many clear, calm days and stable sea conditions. Migratory and large pelagic fish such as GT (giant trevally) and dogtooth (dogtooth tuna) can be targeted at points with strong currents like Coffee Point (Tanjung Kopi). In the rainy season of November to April, rain, currents and swell tend to be stronger. In August the wind picks up, and on some days the more open-ocean points off Bunaken and Bangka are affected.
