Snapper/GT(kakap merah)
The best time for fishing is the dry season (roughly November to April), when the sea is calm and visibility is high. However, around Natuna the northeast monsoon (north wind) strengthens from December to March, making the sea prone to roughening, so conditions are generally stable around March to May. Targets include GT (giant trevally), yellowfin tuna, barracuda, and sailfish.

Working out of Ranai (Penagi) in the Natuna Islands off the Kepri region, hitting the offshore structure and the Karang Kering area. Kakap merah (red snapper) and GT are the main targets, on a geopark seascape dotted with limestone karst islets and coral reefs. Every July the Natuna Geopark Fishing event draws crowds in both traditional and pro divisions.
