The ferry takes about 35–40 minutes (first departure around 7:00, last around 20:30). The nearest airport is Ipoh (IPH), about 2 hours by car, and from Kuala Lumpur (KL) it is about 3–4 hours by car or bus. Ferries from Marina Island Jetty are faster, taking only 10–15 minutes.

Squid(sotong)/Snapper/GT（Pangkor/Lumut/Manjung）
The best fishing season is the dry season of January to March (especially February to March) and June to July. The weather is stable and the sea relatively calm, making it easy to go out. Squid (sotong) can be targeted from shore with squid jigging around the island and near the Teluk Nipah jetty, and in good seasons you can expect numbers. Being on the west coast, fishing is possible year-round, but September to December sees more rain and the sea is more likely to be rough.

The main grounds are around Pangkor Island, about a 30-minute ferry from Lumut port. Around the rocky reefs you can target queenfish, grouper, snapper, and trevally, and in season squid (sotong) jigging is popular too. Pangkor Island has a tropical climate on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula, with stable temperatures year-round (highs of 29–31°C, lows of 22–24°C). It is less affected by the strong northeast monsoon than the east coast, but September to December tends to be a rainier wet season. Light clothing is the norm all year, but prepare for sudden showers during the wet season.
