Faaa International Airport (PPT), about 5 km from central Papeete. Direct flights from Japan, LA, NZ, Paris and elsewhere. Departs from Tahiti (Punaauia/Marina Taina area). In addition to day charters, liveaboard expeditions to remote areas are offered. The 50ft SeaWolf is fully air-conditioned with a gyro stabilizer.

How to fish here

Tahiti's high season runs Dec-May with sustained calm, when big marlin overlap the yellowfin migration and even 200 lb class yellowfin are on the cards. Jun-Sep brings the trade winds, but big marlin are around year-round, with July especially good. With the 50 ft SeaWolf and the 90 ft Ultimate Lady, expeditions to places like the Gambier Islands put 1,000 lb class marlin and 100 lb GT casting within range.
