GT/Tuna/Grouper/Squid(Racha/Similan)
The best time for big fish is the high season of November to April when the sea is calm. Sailfish peak in January to March (caught year-round, and abundant around Racha Yai even in the rainy season of June to August). GT run March to November, especially March-April and October-December. Tuna are good from June to November. The Similan Islands operate only from October to April, with marlin/sailfish at their peak from November to April.

The main arena is the Racha and Similan islands in the Andaman Sea. Boats run from Chalong pier, and around Racha Noi you can expect big fish on GT popping around the full moon. Similan trips run roughly Oct-Apr only due to sea conditions; Nov-Apr is peak billfish and sailfish trolling, and yellowfin peak Oct-Jan.
