How to fish here

Famous as a surfing mecca, it's also the Philippines' premier game-fish island. Based at Puerto Pilar, you leave at dawn around 5-6 a.m. and run 10-30 km offshore chasing marlin, GT, wahoo, and yellowfin tuna, with the standard being an afternoon return to General Luna. Sailfish peak from March to May, while yellowfin tuna and dorado can be targeted year-round.
