The starting point is the port town of Sibolga on North Sumatra's west coast, about 14 nautical miles from Mursala Island (Central Tapanuli) out in the Indian Ocean. It's roughly an hour by speedboat from Pandan port, with a boat charter running around 1.3 million rupiah. Targets are Indian Ocean reef and pelagic species like GT, snapper, grouper and tuna on jigs and poppers. The sheltered lee of the open-ocean island, ringed by white-sand beach, makes a fine ground.
