Vava'u International Airport (VAV/Lupepau'u), about 10 km north of Neiafu. Daily (except Sundays) with Lulutai Airlines from Fua'amotu Airport on Tongatapu. Seasonal international flights also from Nadi, Apia and Pago Pago. Accommodation pick-up at the airport / Halaevalu Wharf. Fishing grounds about 40 min from Neiafu harbour (Port of Refuge). 34 ft Luhrs boat.

How to fish here

Blue Marlin Magic fishes grounds about 40 minutes from the Port of Refuge in Neiafu, aboard Captain Steve Campbell's 34 ft Lures boat, running since 1998. A long-established operation with over 2,000 blue marlin to its name (more than 90% released). Vava'u's blue marlin peak in spring, Sep-Nov, with Jun-Dec the promising season.
